Terms & Conditions - Together we can recycle

  1. The Promotion is open to residents of the UK, CI, IoM and ROI, except employees and their families of Nestle Purina Petcare Limited and its subsidiary companies, their agents and anyone professionally connected with this Promotion.
  2. Customers can pledge to recycle their pet food cans up to a maximum of 99 cans per pledge, per week.
  3. No purchase is necessary.
  4. All pledges must be made by entering the amount of cans recycled on www.purina.co.uk/wecan
  5. Recycling energy saving claims are substantiated by the following:
    • a) Steel packaging is 100% recyclable and can be recycled time and again without any loss of quality (source: Steel Can Recycling Information Bureau)
    • b) Recycling 1 ton of steel saves 17.4 GJ of Primary Energy (source: International Iron & Steel Institute)
    • c) Conversion Factor (non renewable primary energy to electricity) – European mix is 12MJ/kwh[1] à 1 ton of steel saves 1450 kwh (source: Ecoinvent v2.2 – Quantis)
    • d) Felix and Winalot 400g cans have the following characteristics:
      • » A 73 mm Dia can weighs 34.5g
      • » A 73 mm Dia end weighs 11.1 g
      • » This means per recycled can + end = 66.12 Watt * h
  6. The Promoter reserves the right at its sole discretion to exclude any person who is found to be tampering with, corrupting or affecting the proper conduct of the promotion, attempting to damage the website or otherwise undermine the legitimate operation of the promotions or to be acting in any manner deemed by the Promoter to be in violation of the Terms and Conditions; or to be acting in any manner deemed by the Promoter to be disruptive.
  7. The promoter's decision is final. No correspondence will be entered into.
  8. Once the level of 50,000 pet food cans have been pledged, the Promoter will donate £10,000 (or Euro equivalent) to each of the partner charities:-
    • a. The Dublin Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, registered charity CHY1047 (Ireland)
    • b. Canine partners, registered charity no: 2516146 (England) and SCO39050 (Scotland)
    • c. Cats Protection, registered charity no: 203644 (England & Wales) and SC037711 (Scotland).
  9. The promoter has absolute discretion over the making of donations so as to ensure appropriate donation handling and legal compliance.
  10. Limitations of Liability. Neither the Promoter nor the promotional parties assume any responsibility or liability for:
    • a. Communications line failure, regardless of cause, with regard to any equipment, systems, networks, lines, satellites, servers, computers or providers utilised in any aspect of this promotion causing delays or disruption.
    • b. Inaccessibility or unavailability of the internet or the website or any combination thereof.
  11. By participating in the Promotion, participants are deemed to have accepted these terms and conditions.
