OM Obesity Management

How can you help your dog achieve an ideal body condition?

Weight gain is usually gradual and subtle, but can easily be checked each time you visit your vet practice (or you can weigh your dog regularly at home). The practice can also show you how to monitor your dog's Body Condition Score. Dogs should have a body condition score of 4 or 5 on a 9 point scale. Your dog could be overweight if it's difficult to feel the ribs when you run your hand over the chest and he/she does not have an obvious waist when viewed from above and the side.

There are 2 ways of ensuring successful weight loss and maintenance:

  • Carefully controlling your dog's diet and calorie intake
  • Increasing the amount of exercise

PURINA® PRO PLAN® VETERINARY DIETS Canine OM Obesity Management is a complete veterinary diet clinically proven to be effective for weight loss in obese dogs. Dogs kept fit and trim can live up to two years longer than overweight dogs, which is why Canine OM Obesity Management is low in fat and calories whilst being high in protein to encourage steady and effective weight loss while maintaining muscle mass.

Made with high levels of protein and added natural fibre to help your dog feel full and satisfied, it is also highly palatable to make losing weight easier. Once ideal weight is reached your dog can continue to be fed PURINA® PRO PLAN® VETERINARY DIETS Canine OM Obesity Management to help maintain your dog's ideal weight.

PURINA® PRO PLAN® VETERINARY DIETS Canine OM Obesity Management is also suitable for diabetic dogs as its complex, low GI carbohydrates, natural fibre and high protein levels help to control glucose (sugar) levels in the blood.
Available in 3kg and 12kg bags, and 400g cans.

Key benefits of PURINA® PRO PLAN® VETERINARY DIETS Canine OM Obesity Management:

  • High protein to help promote loss of body fat while maintaining lean muscles during weight loss.
  • Low calorie: reduced levels of fat to help reduce the number of calories consumed.
  • Glucose control: high in complex carbohydrates and fibre to help even out blood sugar levels throughout the day, reducing hunger pangs and helping your dog feel fuller for longer
  • Overweight: suitable for overweight diabetic dogs

Note that PURINA® PRO PLAN® VETERINARY DIETS Canine OM Obesity Management is not recommended for dogs that need a higher calorie intake such as pregnant bitches or growing puppies.
