The competition judging will take place by 16.09.26, and the winner will be chosen by an independent third-party panel and notified via the entry email address. Max one entry per person.

FULL TERMS AND CONDITIONS
These Terms and Conditions (the “Terms and Conditions”) prevail in the event of any conflict or inconsistency with any other communications, including advertising or promotional materials. Entry instructions are deemed to form part of these Terms and Conditions and by participating all participants will be deemed to have accepted and be bound by them. Participants should retain a copy for their information.
The Promoter takes data protection seriously. By entering this promotion, participants confirm that they have read the Privacy Policy for the applicable platform and agree to these Terms and Conditions of the promotion. By submitting any information required as part of their participation into the campaign, participants agree to their information being held and processed in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
1. The promotion is open to residents of England, UK only, aged 18 or over only, excluding employees and their immediate families of Nestlé Purina UK Commercial Operations Ltd, its agents or anyone else professionally connected with this promotion.
2. In entering the competition, you confirm that you are eligible to do so and are eligible to claim any prize you may win. The Promoter may require you to provide proof that you are eligible to enter the competition.
3. Participants can enter the competition by emailing BakersHeroDog@citypress.co.uk with the following information:
a. full name; and
b. image of dog; and
c. the dog's name; and
d. details about what makes them a hero (50 words max). Entries will be judged on personality, humour and the bond between owner and dog.
No purchase is necessary.
A maximum of one (1) entry per person is permitted throughout the duration of the event.
4. The promotion opens at 00:01 on 19.08.26 and closes at 23:59 on 02.09.2026. Entries submitted outside of this period will not be accepted.
5. Closing date for entry is 23:59 on 02.09.26. The promotion can only be accessed via emailing BakersHeroDog@citypress.co.uk.
6. There is one (1) top prize available to be won consisting of a year’s supply of dog food. The prize includes:

• A year’s supply of dog food (appropriate of dog size and health). Delivery schedule to be either all at once or quarterly. This is for the prize winner to decide. First delivery to be within four weeks of accepting the prize.
7. A maximum of one (1) top prize is available to be won in total during the promotional period. Entrants will be required to provide full name, image of dog, the dog's name, and details about what makes them a hero. The Promoter reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to disqualify any individual found to be attempting to circumvent this clause by tampering with the operation of the promotion, using alternative details, automatically generating entries by computer or artificial intelligence, setting up multiple accounts or using multiple identities. Or otherwise acting in a manner deemed by the Promoter to be in violation of the Terms and Conditions. Entries (bulk or otherwise) made from trade customers, consumer groups, agents, third parties or syndicates will not be accepted.
8. Pets belonging to a breed with known common health concerns will not be able to participate in this competition. The following, non-exhaustive list of breeds will therefore not be considered:
• Breeds with exaggerated physical characteristics which harm their health and well-being – this includes Brachycephalic (flat-faced) breeds; and/ or
• Breeds listed under the Dangerous Dogs Act 1991; and/ or
• Mixed breeds if one parent is a breed of concern; and/or
• Any breed judged to have unhealthy traits will not be considered for judging or winning prizes.
9. The winner will be judged by a third-party panel made up of representatives selected by the Promoter. The panel will select as the winning entry, the entry which they consider most persuasive (on the basis on the information described at Condition 3).
10. The panel will select one (1) winner from all qualifying entries by 14th September 2026 (“Selection Date”).
11. Shortlisted entries (including names, entries and any submitted images) will be shared with Nestlé, and the winner's email address will be shared with Nestlé to arrange prize fulfilment.
12. The Promoter will contact the winner personally as soon as practicable after the Selection Date, using the email address provided with the competition entry. The Promoter will not amend any contact information once the competition entry form has been submitted. This claim process will involve providing personal details (including proof of age and address) to verify that the win is genuine and valid.
13. The Promoter accepts no responsibility for failed delivery of the winner notification due to provision of incorrect contact details by entrants. Any prize that is returned undelivered will be assumed unwanted and the Promoter reserves the right to select an alternative winner to receive the prize using the same process referred to above in these Terms and Conditions. Participants are encouraged to monitor their email, including Spam and Junk folders in case they are the winner.
14. The selected winner has five working days from the date on which the Promoter makes contact to claim the prize by replying to the winners email. If the selected winner does not claim the prize by this date, the claim will become invalid.
15. The Promoter will make all reasonable efforts to contact the winner. If the winner cannot be contacted or is not available or has not claimed their prize within two days of the Selection Date, the Promoter reserves the right to offer the prize to the next eligible entrant selected from the correct entries that were received before the Closing Date.
16. The next eligible entrant selected pursuant to condition 14 above will be required to claim their prize within 5 days from the date on which the Promoter notifies you that you have won the prize. If the prize is not claimed within the specified time period, the claim will become invalid.
17. Incomplete, illegible, corrupted entries, or those which are otherwise not in accordance with these Terms and Conditions will not be valid. The Promoter accepts no responsibility for failure to receive an entry where such failure is due to circumstances outside the Promoter’s control.
18. The Promoter cannot be responsible for entries that fail to register, are delayed or incomplete, or indeed for network, computer hardware or software failures of any kind, which may restrict or delay entry.
19. In the event of circumstances outside the reasonable control of the Promoter, or otherwise where fraud, abuse, and/or an error (human or computer) affects or could affect the proper operation of this promotion or the awarding of prizes, and only where circumstances make this unavoidable, the Promoter reserves the right to cancel or amend the promotion or these Terms and Conditions, at any stage, but will always endeavour to minimize the effect to participants in order to avoid undue disappointment.
20. The prize is non-transferable and cannot be sold or auctioned. No cash or other alternative to a prize will be offered except in the event of unforeseen circumstances, the Promoter reserves the right to offer an alternative prize of equal or greater value.
21. The Promoter and its agents will only use personal information supplied by entrants to this promotion for the purposes of administering this promotion unless consent is received to use such information for any other purpose.
22. The Promoter and its associated agencies and companies will not be liable for any loss (including, without limitation, indirect, special or consequential loss or loss of profits), expense or damage which is suffered or sustained (whether or not arising from any person’s negligence) in connection with this promotion or accepting or using the prizes, except for any liability which cannot be excluded by law (including personal injury, death and fraud) in which case that liability is limited to the minimum allowable by law.
23. The Promoter reserves the right to verify the winner and to refuse to award the prize or withdraw prize entitlement where there are reasonable grounds to believe there has been a breach of these Terms and Conditions, or any instructions forming part of this promotion’s entry requirements, or otherwise where a participant has gained an unfair advantage in participating in the promotion or won using fraudulent means.
24. By taking part in the promotion, the winner agrees that the Promoter may contact them to ask whether they want to participate in marketing activities/PR relating to this promotion only. Such publicity may include, without limitation, the entrants’ name and/or if consent given, image or statements made by entrants concerning the promotion and/or prize obtained as part of the promotion. The winner is not obliged to agree to any such request.
25. Subject to the Promoter’s Privacy Policy which can be found at https://www.purina.com/privacy-policy, the surname and county of the verified winner(s) will be available upon request by sending an email to: consumer.services@uk.nestle.com with the subject line “WINNER’S LIST: BAKERS 175 YEARS COMPETITION” for a period of 90 days following the end of the promotion. The Promoter reserves the right to refuse any or all such requests. If the winner(s) objects to their information being published, then they can contact the Promoter by emailing: UKI.Dataprotection@uk.nestle.com with the subject line “WINNER’S LIST: BAKERS 175 YEARS COMPETITION”. We may nevertheless disclose the information to the Advertising Standards Authority if required to do so.
26. Data Protection: The Promoter will only use the personal details supplied for the administration of the promotion and the auditing of the entries where necessary and for no other purpose, unless we have your consent and you have opted-in to receive future marketing communications or prize PR. As part of this promotion, if you are not opted-in into our general marketing email, you may still receive emails/messages for this promotion only to let you know if you have won and to make arrangements for your prize delivery. The surname and county of the verified winner will be made available as set out in paragraph 25 above and any winner can object to this by emailing: UKI.Dataprotection@uk.nestle.com. Otherwise, your personal details will at all times be kept confidential, and in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). By participating in the promotion, you agree to the use of your personal data as described here. You can withdraw your consent at any time. For the purpose of this promotion, requests to delete personal data can only be actioned after the promotion has concluded and the winner(s) accepted their prize. Any data obtained via this promotion will be deleted after 90 days of the promotional end date with the exception of the winner(s) and reserve(s) whose data will be deleted after fulfilment of the prize.
27. If any of these clauses should be determined to be illegal, invalid, or otherwise unenforceable then it shall be severed and deleted from these Terms and Conditions and the remaining clauses shall survive and remain in full force and effect.
28. The Promotion and these Terms and Conditions will be governed by the laws of England and Wales and any disputes as to the meaning of these Terms and Conditions will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the participants’ local courts.
29. The decision of the Promoter in all matters connected to this draw is final and binding.
