Weighing your pet isn't always easy. Medium, large and giant breeds will need to be weighed on the type of scales that you find in your veterinary practice. Sometimes, large pet superstores also have scales you can use.

For toy and small breeds, you may be able to weigh them on your own home scales (if they will stay still for long enough). Alternatively, you can weigh yourself and record the weight, then pick up your pet (only if you can do so without hurting yourself or your dog) and step on the scales again. Subtract your weight from the combined weight and this will give you your pet's weight.

Then weigh just yourself and subtract your weight from the total figure to get your cat’s weight.
