Say Hello to Mose
Australian Shepherd Dog, 4 years old
My favourite thing about Mose is...
He truly is an alpha male. He has a younger (dog) brother, Andy, who he thinks he is the boss of. If Andy (age 2) is hyper or jumps on a visitor, Mose will pull him down with his paws and give him a warning. It’s so funny to see him play big brother.
The biggest challenge with Mose is...
At bed time he will rush to our bed and lay in my husband’s spot. You have to pretend to take him outside to get him to move. It’s a minor challenge to have but he does NOT want to leave his dad’s comfy spot.
The most surprising thing about owning a Australian Shepherd Dog is...
They do not get tired. As long as they are entertained, they will stay active.
What I wish I’d known about Australian Shepherd Dogs is...
Getting a second does not mean they will be just like the first. My younger Australian Shepherd was so much harder to potty train than Mose. They also have completely different personalities. You cannot expect them to be the same just because they are the same breed.
Did you know?
The Australian Shepherds are often born with heterochromia, meaning that they have two different coloured eyes.
