Greetings from Fly
Border Collie, 3 years old
He came from The Border Collie Spot .
My favourite thing about Fly is...
Fly loves to please! He really wants to know that he's done the right thing and is a good boy. He loves his play and his training.
The biggest challenge with Fly is...
Sadly Fly developed epilepsy earlier this year. This has been a real challenge as he gets quite upset when he has a fit. On top of this we also founf out he is suffering from retinal degeneration and is likely almost blind. This doesn't stop him enjoying life as best he can though!
The most surprising thing about owning a Border Collie is...
How quickly they adapt to new situations and new environments.
What I wish I’d known about Border Collies is...
No two collies are the same! We had another collie before Fly and they were completely different (but both good boys!). They all have their own unique personalities and need individual attention.
Did you know?
There are many theories on how Collies got their names but as ‘collie’ is Gaelic for ‘useful’ perhaps it’s as simple as Scottish farmers recognising one of the key traits of their dogs.
