Get to know Gypsie
Border Collie, 7 years old
My favourite thing about Gypsie is...
She is the sweetest natured dog and always eager to please
The biggest challenge with Gypsie is...
Gypsie is clinically brain damaged due to illness the vet never picked up on for approx 10mths.She stopped growing at 6mths and sadly so did her brain. Biggest challenge now is she is very immature and has been hard to train. Good thing is she loves and trusts me as I do her. I would not swap her for the world. She has Nell, another Border Collie to keep her company, they make a good pair
The most surprising thing about owning a Border Collie is...
Every one is different but always eager to please, are very active and love to learn. I cannot imagine having any other breed, I have had rescue ones for 48yrs now, all come with issues but with trust, love and training we get there in the end
What I wish I’d known about Border Collies is...
This breed need a lot of input from the start, they need a lot of exercise AND mental stimulation. They all come from working stock and thrive on being busy. If left alone for too long chances are they will find ways of keeping busy with destroying what ever they can their teeth into. Please think long and hard before deciding on this breed. Too many people do not do their research
