Greetings from Brodie
Cairn Terrier, 10 years old
My favourite thing about Brodie is...
He is a real character and definitely knows his own mind. He is the fourth Cairn we have had and I love the breed. He is cheeky, playful, loving and extremely loyal and definitely a loving part of our family. We always get a welcome home from him and a very sad face when we leave him which is very rare. I am suffering with a terminal illness and a better more loving companion would be extremely hard to find.
The biggest challenge with Brodie is...
Barking as he thinks he owns the neighbourhood!
The most surprising thing about owning a Cairn Terrier is...
Their intelligence, stubbornness, happy nature and loyalty. Their ability to sense when anything is wrong or when you are ill or unhappy. They have a cheeky way of cheering you up.
What I wish I’d known about Cairn Terriers is...
I didn't need to know anything as I adore the breed and although I have owned 4 Cairns, each have had their own characters I am still besotted with these strong little dogs in big dog coats.
Did you know?
Probably one of the most iconic Cairn Terrier is Toto in the film The Wizard of Oz. It may be interesting to note that if Dorothy had just kept him on a lead, she’d have had far less trouble. But then also far fewer adventures!
