Let's say Bonjour to Skye
Cockapoo, 13 Weeks old
My favourite thing about Skye is...
how sweet and affectionate she is. She is very bright with an independent, good natured spirit. She always wants to please but those adoring puppy eyes definitely hold a hint of mischief.
The biggest challenge with Skye is...
On walks, Skye likes to pick up everything that other people have discarded and tries to swallow bits of paper, plastic tops, tissues, anything really. She also likes to pull on the lead and jump up so there’s a lot of training to do – for me too – I need to be positive, consistent and patient..
The most surprising thing about owning a Cockapoo is...
how sunny and sweet natured they are, they make you smile most of the time and you feel tired the rest of it as they have so much energy. They love to dig and are good chewers so they can be a bit bitey when teething - you need lots of chew toys to replace hands and fingers.
What I wish I’d known about Cockapoos is...
Cockapoos have delicate ears prone to infections so you need to keep their ears clean as problems can become quickly expensive. They need regular grooming as their coats can become easily matted so spend some time brushing your puppy - it's very relaxing to do. They are also good chewers so buy some sturdy chew toys. We already have two toys in sick bay and one who sadly was not recoverable.
Did you know?
Cockapoos produce low amounts of dander and hair, so they’re popularly chosen as pets by those with allergies or sensitivities.
