Meet Harley
Cocker Spaniel (English), 6 years old
My favourite thing about Harley is...
How loving he is, I have to kiss him good morning and good night and before I leave or return home otherwise he sulks, he has the most amazing nature and loves his cat sisters and brother.
The biggest challenge with Harley is...
Will bark at anything, and if he smells something he is off like a rocket with complete disregard for his surroundings which can make for an interesting walk if he is off lead. Also he is terrified of the vet - no idea why, never a bad experience but he dosen't talk to me for days after he’s had to go 😂
The most surprising thing about owning a Cocker Spaniel (English) is...
Harley is a working cocker so needs loads of excercise. Also I didn’t know how loving and fiercely loyal they are. Also they are incredibly intelligent and love to learn.
What I wish I’d known about Cocker Spaniels (English) is...
If getting a working cocker the amount of exercise they need. Harley has 3 walks a day for around 3.5 to 3 miles which doesn’t include the time he is off the lead and running around. Also they are very food driven and will eat anything they find.
Did you know?
A Cocker Spaniel named Tangle was the first cancer-detecting dog, trained to recognise the smell of cancer with a success rate of 80% accuracy.
