Get to know Libby
Cocker Spaniel (English), 1 Year old
My favourite thing about Libby is...
Seeing her play with my Flatcoated Retriever Lucus; she is so quick and funny to watch. Libby is an expert at wiggling out when playing, she jumps up in front of him looking very cheeky! Both my dogs get on very well together. When a toy is involved they both want the same one like children do. She doesn’t like water which is unusual for a Spaniel. Libby makes me laugh every day!
The biggest challenge with Libby is...
She did eat her own poop, like the breeding bitches do with their puppies. None of my other Cockers have done that. Libby is my 7th Cocker Spaniel. I was on it straight away and picked it up. She doesn’t do it now at 15 months old.
The most surprising thing about owning a Cocker Spaniel (English) is...
They are very intelligent and need things to use their brain power, like agility, scent training or fly ball. They love to be with you in the garden, on walks on holidays and are so much part of the family.
What I wish I’d known about Cocker Spaniels (English) is...
You must train them as they will be a handful. They are very social creatures and love other dogs and people.
