Meet Peggy
Cocker Spaniel (English), 13 years old
My favourite thing about Peggy is...
She had been used for breeding when we got her aged seven and lived in a basement flat. She had surgery for multiple breast tumours after we got her and never complained once and just showed nothing but love. She fell in love with freedom on the moors and coast and a large garden and dear Florrie our lab now over the rainbow three weeks ago. She oozes love despite everything.
The biggest challenge with Peggy is...
Trying to herd all other dogs she met as if her offspring but sadly now on a lead after having vestibular episodes which has left her wobbly at times. Since loosing Florrie the lab she has decided to bark at everything even a pot dog next door. She is now slightly deaf and chooses to have selective deafness!!!
The most surprising thing about owning a Cocker Spaniel (English) is...
How lovable and loyal and characters we never knew. Dedicated totally.
What I wish I’d known about Cocker Spaniels (English) is...
Don’t believe all that is said about a spaniel although we only got Peggy when she was seven and had never “lived life”. Always thought they were too hyper for elderly (us)
