Get to know Skye
Cocker Spaniel (English), 2 years old
My favourite thing about Skye is...
She is incredibly affectionate - if I have been at work, when I come back so will 'face plant' me. This is where she pushes her face against mine and stay there for ages. It is like she just can't get close enough to me! The love and devotion she shows me goes way beyond what I expected!
The biggest challenge with Skye is...
Sometimes her affection is an issue at night time. She doesn't want to go to sleep in the kitchen so she will woof! It happens sporadically but usually just as you are about to turn the light off and fall asleep. A few comforting words later and she settles. Just hoping she grows out of this little habit!
The most surprising thing about owning a Cocker Spaniel (English) is...
How attached they become to one member of the family! She will not be in another room to me in the house and she will sit patiently waiting for the next walk. Her loyalty is extraordinary!
What I wish I’d known about Cocker Spaniels (English) is...
Just how much exercise she needs - 2 hours a day! And still she gets restless in between! We love walking her so it isn't a problem but sometimes keeping her entertained so she does become destructive, xan be a challenge!
