Let's say Bonjour to Clementine
Collie (Rough), 8 Months old
My favourite thing about Clementine is...
She has the most loving personality but is also a complete goofball, so we get both cuddles and play in abundance!
The biggest challenge with Clementine is...
Toilet training. We have a 16 year old dog in the house who is quite incontinent so toilet training a puppy alongside an elderly dog can be quite challenging. The trick is to use specific pet cleaners.
The most surprising thing about owning a Collie (Rough) is...
How little you need to groom them. People think you have to do it every day but half an hour once a week is enough, as long as you keep on top of it they're very easy dogs to maintain.
What I wish I’d known about Collies (Rough) is...
They're very sensitive to the world around them and hate conflict. Rough collies are incredibly gentle souls who spend quite a lot of time worrying about things they don't need to worry about. Each dog is different but they usually don't like shiny floors, and they absolutely hate to hear people arguing. They're definitely all about making love, not war.
Did you know?
The early ancestors of the Rough Collie are thought to have arrived with the Romans, around 2000 years ago.
