Meet Myrddin (Welsh for Merlin)

Flatcoated Retriever, 8 years old

🌳 Countryside dog
🍷 Lives with adults only
Myrddin (Welsh for Merlin) was adopted!

He came from Flatcoat Rescue .

My favourite thing about Myrddin (Welsh for Merlin) is...

Very loving and gentle - have two Grandchildren who visit most weekends and never have any worries about Myrddin with them.

The biggest challenge with Myrddin (Welsh for Merlin) is...

He eats POO! Have had 4 flatcoats (all rescue) and never had one with this habit! He is not very obedient but my fault as he had been treated so badly in the first year of his life that we spoilt him at the time best for training!

The most surprising thing about owning a Flatcoated Retriever is...

Myrddin has never barked but this is not a flatcoat trait - the others did but not abnormally - presume retrievers are bred for the gun so shouldn't scare the game!

What I wish I’d known about Flatcoated Retrievers is...

Flatcoats are known for being lively and enthusiastic about everything but not , as I have read in some articles , Loony!! So don't be put off by that! As long as you are reasonably active you will be fine!
