Get to know Hamish

Fox Terrier Wire Coat, 10 years old

🏠 Suburbs dog
🍼 Lives with children

My favourite thing about Hamish is...

Hamish is a loyal and affectionate little dog. He is truly a dear member of our family. He instinctively knows when you’re feeling poorly and sits beside you very close. When we have visitors he empties his toy box to find the right toy for his guests

The biggest challenge with Hamish is...

Hamish is not very keen with other dogs. He does a lot of growling and barking as soon as he sees another dog. A lot of this is bravado and he soon calms down but it can be very annoying.

The most surprising thing about owning a Fox Terrier Wire Coat is...

To keep a Fox Terrier looking their best they need to be hand stripped which can be costly and requires a visit to the groomers at least every 3 months. You can get them shaved however their coat loses sits vibrancy. They do not cast.

What I wish I’d known about Fox Terrier Wire Coats is...

I would recommend that you consider hand stripping as when this is done they are really beautiful however this adds to the overall cost of your dogs up keep.
