Come and meet Jensen

Irish Setter, 8 years old

🌳 Countryside dog
🍼 Lives with children

My favourite thing about Jensen is...

His affectionate nature. He is so tender. He loves to love. I love how sweet he can be. He has the softest look in his eyes, almost captivating. He may look scary but truly he’s a sweetie. I love how good he is with young children and small animals. I love his little nose. I love his soft coat. I just love him.

The biggest challenge with Jensen is...

He enjoys being naughty occasionally. We’ll take him for a run in the forest and he’ll go off for half an hour, worrying us. But he always finds his way back to us. Jen’s definitely began growing out of his naughtiness. But he’ll steal food from the counter. He’ll roll in cow poop. Sometimes he likes to asset his ‘dominance’ to other dogs & intimidate them, though he’d never attack.

The most surprising thing about owning a Irish Setter is...

They’re clever, sneaky & intelligent. They’ll take things from you and you won’t even realize it. They can learn so many different things, they are truly such wise dogs.

What I wish I’d known about Irish Setters is...

I wish I’d known that I’d never desire a different breed. After all these decades, I still truly obsess over them, and only them. They’ll worm their way into your heart and stay there forever.
