Get to know Molly
Jack Russell Terrier, 15 years old
My favourite thing about Molly is...
Her empathy for my mental health state. Whilst lockdown was in place I felt very isolated, at my worst moments she was there snuggling and nuzzling me. Her dependancy on me for walks got me walking and occasionally chatting to neighbours. I do hybrid work now 3 days home 2 office so I chat to Molly when working.
The biggest challenge with Molly is...
Getting Molly to eat. She had teeth removed and often pinches the cats food. They pinch hers too. Molly accepted 2 kittens just over a year ago, Mario and Luigi ;and now they are as thick as thieves. Getting her to accept them proved challenging. She also lives with 4 pet chickens.
The most surprising thing about owning a Jack Russell Terrier is...
Molly is all bark no bite, she adores people not other dogs though. Her tolerance of other animals is credit to her we were told Jack Russels are cat killers but not Molly.
What I wish I’d known about Jack Russell Terriers is...
Just how stubourn they can be. They are very intelligent and bad habits need sorting as quickly as possible.
