Get to know Frankie
Lurcher, 7 years old
My favourite thing about Frankie is...
His ability to make me smile without doing anything.
The biggest challenge with Frankie is...
His epilepsy. Diagnosed at 6mths he's since been diagnosed as refractory, takes 16 pills at set times each day and has emergency meds on standby. We've had "the talk" twice but I've refused to give up on my boy. He's my best friend and means more to me than anyone will ever know. He leads a meaningful life, we've made some amazing memories and continue to live each day to its fullest.
The most surprising thing about owning a Lurcher is...
Their ability to do 100mph zoomies, coming within an inch of you but somehow managing to miss you! But mostly, the love they give, unconditionally.
What I wish I’d known about Lurchers is...
The Scream of Death. The most worrying, high pitched cry that seemingly, on first hearing it, means something awful has happened. The loss of a limb perhaps. On closer inspection, it was just a piece of fluff stuck between their toes 🙄
