Hello from Ralph

Lurcher, 9 years old

🌳 Countryside dog
🍷 Lives with adults only
Ralph was adopted!

He came from The Dogs Trust .

My favourite thing about Ralph is...

How loving he is! He’s a couch potato and loves to be snuggled up next to you on the sofa. If you’re stroking him or tickling him he will kick his back leg asking you to carry on! He’s very vocal when he meets new people and is excited.

The biggest challenge with Ralph is...

He suffered from separation anxiety for a very long time and would be destructive if left at all. He would also wee in the house if you left him, having just been for a walk.

The most surprising thing about owning a Lurcher is...

How little exercise they need. Short bursts and they’re ready to sleep the rest of the day!

What I wish I’d known about Lurchers is...

How much you fall in love with the breed!

Did you know?

Do not mistake Lurchers as having the same traits as retired racing Greyhounds, who are generally happy with two 20 to 40 minute walks a day and a lot of time to sleep! This is a common error as while Greyhounds are sprint athletes, not endurance runners, once some other breed is added to the mix, such as collie, Saluki, terrier etc that changes things entirely!
