Greetings from Bracken
Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever, 3 years old
My favourite thing about Bracken is...
Playfulness, loyalty, intelligence, willing to please, good natured around people, children and dogs, loves to learn new tricks, very handsome, striking eyes and beautiful fluffy ginger coat, loves adventuring outdoors and being involved with whatever his people are doing.
The biggest challenge with Bracken is...
Being bright and energetic, not great at self-entertaining and gets bored easily - as long as he's awake he needs interaction and lots of different ways to engage his brain and be physically active, just like a toddler! Double coat = so much moulting.
The most surprising thing about owning a Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever is...
Nothing about their traits, quirks and needs should surprise you if you research the breed fully and meet some first.

Did you know?
The term ‘toll’ means ‘to entice’ and this is where the Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever gets their name – their job is to lure in ducks with their waving white tipped tail, so that hunters can get their shot. Then fulfilling the second part of their name, the Toller finds and retrieves the shot birds to the hunter.
