Greetings from Hector
Poodle (Miniature), 3 years old
My favourite thing about Hector is...
how loyal and loving he is. When we come home from work he will wait for us to sit down before he showers us with kisses and cuddles. When we are playing chase with our little boy he gets involved but if he thinks we are being too rowdy with him he will stand between us to stop us catching our son.
The biggest challenge with Hector is...
he can be stubborn at times and will refuse to do basic commands. We have spent a lot of time training him but some days he is just not willing to cooperate.
The most surprising thing about owning a Poodle (Miniature) is...
Hector is not a yappy or barking kind of dog. Hector barks when he is celebrating getting a chew that he likes but other than that he is rather quiet - not the impression people give you about poodles on the smaller side.
What I wish I’d known about Poodles (Miniature) is...
grooming is very important, make sure to acclimatise your dog as early as possible so they are comfortable with the brush and being bathed. This will help the groomer too as their coats need to be maintained every 4-6 weeks - if you are not taking care of their coats they will need to see a groomer more often.
Did you know?
A Poodle’s coat never stops growing, which is one of the many reasons they need regular grooming.
