Say Hello to Daisy

Schnauzer (Miniature), 7 years old

🌆 City dog
🍼 Lives with children

My favourite thing about Daisy is...

She is a very affectionate dog. She loves to be close to us and always in the same room if allowed. She loves to be on our laps, snuggled up on the sofa and if that's not possible sleeping right next to our feet. She gets so excited when a family member arrives home - showering them with love and attention.

The biggest challenge with Daisy is...

She is determined to protect the house. By barking at anything and everything that dares enter her territory. Left unattended she will bark at birds, cats, bees, squirrels, foxes and even aeroplanes. She's had 100% success rate with planes - not a single one has landed in the garden. And the slightest knock at the door and she's alerted us all to the potential threat...

The most surprising thing about owning a Schnauzer (Miniature) is...

They don't shed. It's bliss! There is zero hair anywhere in the house. And means she can snuggle on the sofa and not leave anything on your clothes. However we do groom her regularly as she does love to get mucky if she can.

What I wish I’d known about Schnauzers (Miniature) is...

They are very greedy dogs and are prone to seeking out nasty things to eat when on a walk. BUT they have sensitive tummies so it doesn't do them any good. It's not a big thing, but they need to stick to the same brand of food (once you have found one that works for them), and be watched on walks to see they're not helping themselves to someone's discarded takeaway.

Did you know?

These tiny dogs are incredibly brave and a Miniature Schnauzer called Cash actually chased a black bear off of their owners driveway!
