Say Hello to Martha
West Highland White Terrier, 9 years old
My favourite thing about Martha is...
Martha is a lovely girl. Feisty, and loving and delights in nothing better than rolling in any dirty puddle that she can find. She once got so filthy in the park people were laughing at her as we were walking back to the car. She is characterful and loyal and she absolutely loves to eat. I would never want to be without her.
The biggest challenge with Martha is...
She goes nuts if she sees a cat but when once she was confronted closely with one, she did not know what to do next!!
The most surprising thing about owning a West Highland White Terrier is...
They have loads of character in spite of being tiny.
What I wish I’d known about West Highland White Terriers is...
You will need plenty of patience when training her but it will be well worth the effort. When she knows what you want from her she will be loyal and well behaved.
Did you know?
Despite their small size they have an incredibly loud bark. Interestingly, they were actually bred this way so that if they ever got stuck underground when hunting, their owner could locate them.
