PRO PLAN® Light Turkey Dry Cat Food

As soon as the package arrived, we have swapped their previous dry food for this Pro plan optilight food. Both of my adult cats couldn't resist the temptation and straight away run to their bowls.
After trying out this product for over 10 days now, I can see the difference in their eating habit. Previously my cats were not so keen on dry food and would avoid it throughout the day and would beg for wet food (especially jelly!). However, with this product I can see more of a balance between dry and wet food, the cats also stop by their bowl with optilight throughout the day.

I was very dubious as to whether Mia would like this ‘diet’ cat food, but as the vet told her she needed to lose some weight (how rude!) it was time to try her on them. I was so surprised! She loves the food and wolfs down her allotted portion when she is given it - so much so that we have started diving the portion into smaller amounts throughout the day. I am very impressed by this as Mia has previously turned up her nose at another brands ‘light’ food offering, so it’s a 10/10 from me and her. I’ll update at the end of the month when she is back at the vet to see if she’s lost any weight

So I wanted to try the Pro Plan Optilight Dry Cat Food for a couple of reasons-my cat is slightly overweight and his hair is shedding all over the place. He is a massive fan of everything containing fish. The dry food we have the chance to try is Turkey and Rice. I am not sure if this is the reason but he is eating less. We started feeding him with Purina Pro Plan on the 19th of July as we've been abroad at the time of the actual delivery. The bag is 3 kg and the kibbles are on the small side, easy to eat and not too stinky which is a plus in the hot weather. I haven't noticed the chance of the hair shedding yet but I am an optimist and I'd give it some more time. I am scoring the product 4 stars just because he hasn't been long enough on it so I can see all benefits. Though he is not eating as much as when we buy his usual favourite brand he is not as greedy as he used to be so I count this as a great plus. I will probably keep buying Purina Pro Plan in future and to be honest, can't wait until the next vet appointment to see how much weight he has lost. We are constantly reminded he needs to be on a diet.

I have 4 cats so I just put the food down to see if any of them would eat it. None were interested and preferred their usual brand. I mixed it with their normal food and then it was consumed. A few days later I tried it again on its own but still none of them were interested. In the end I had to keep mixing it with their current brand just to get it used. My cats just didn’t take to it.
