Colours
The Balinese comes in the same colour patterns typical of the Siamese: seal, blue, chocolate and lilac points, and some extra – red, cream, caramel, apricot, solid, tortie and tabby-coloured. All Balinese are ‘colour point’ patterned, in other words the colour is on the mask, ears, legs and tail, and the body is a pale cream to pure white.
The need-to-know

- Enjoys playing games and is active at home
- Highly active and inquisitive cat

Generally healthy breed
Balinese cats can suffer from:
- Progressive retinal atrophy which is an inherited disorder where part of the eye degenerates and wastes away which can result in blindness.
Testing available:
- DNA testing for progressive retinal atrophy which tests whether or not a cat has the potential to be affected by this condition.
Personality
Playful and inquisitive, the Balinese is a clever, demanding cat who will thrive on attention, fun and games but who may become loud and destructive without this. Consider them toward the more high-maintenance end of the cat scale - more a specialist cat than a relaxing, quiet companion!
