Feeding guide
The recommended period of use is initially up to 12 weeks and lifetime in the case of chronic pancreatic insufficiency. It is recommended that a veterinarian’s opinion be sought before use. Water should always be available.
For dogs over 70kg: for each additional 5kg of body weight, feed an additional 35g of dry pet food.
When feeding dry and wet Canine EN, for each addition of 200g wet, reduce by 60g dry kibble.
For puppies less than 3 months of age, divide the recommended daily amount into 3-4 meals moistened. After 3 months of age, gradually reduce moistening.
For 1.5kg: For puppies, consult your veterinarian on recommended feeding guidelines.

Common questions about Pro Plan Veterinary Diets
Changes in diet can be stressful for your dog and can lead to digestive upsets.
At some point, you may need to change your dog’s diet and the best way to do this to reduce the likelihood of a tummy upset, is slowly!
A gradual transition will give your dog (and their stomach) a chance to adjust to the new food and should take around 7-10 days to complete. However, if you know your pet has a sensitive stomach this time frame should be extended.
Here’s a guide to help
Days 1 to 2: Feed 3/4 of the normal amount of current food and add 1/4 of the new food.
Days 3 to 4: Serve half the current food and half the new food.
Days 5 to 7: Feed 3/4 of the new food and 1/4 the previous food.
Days 8 to 10: Serve only the new food.
If your dog isn’t adjusting to the new food or experiences any digestive upsets, you can try extending the transition over a few more days or get in touch with your vet for advice. They may suggest a different diet or even adding a probiotic to support the gut through the change.
If your other pet doesn’t need a special diet, we recommend that you double check with your vet before feeding.
Some diets are perfectly safe to feed, while others, such as a renal or urinary diet may cause problems in pets that don’t necessarily need it.

PRO PLAN VETERINARY DIETS should be fed following the guidance of a veterinary surgeon. Whilst many of them are fine to feed, some can be contra-indicated for growth, which means that it may affect your pup's development.

Cats and dogs’ nutritional needs are very different from those of humans and a certain proportion must be obtained from specific ingredients. For example, cats have a unique and necessary requirement for animal protein so can never become vegetarian. In addition, both dogs and cats need varying levels of different nutrients depending on their age and daily activity levels, as well as many other lifestyle factors. Satisfying these varying demands with homemade pet food is very difficult because you need an in-depth knowledge of your pet’s individual physiology and nutritional needs. This means that there is a real risk the homemade dog or cat food you prepare could leave your pet without essential nutrients and have a negative impact on their health in both the medium and long term leading to conditions such as bone density problems and/or malformations.
