My favourite thing about Winston is...
Winston is the most loyal and loving dog. He is always by my side protecting and keeping a watchful eye. He is kind and warm towards strangers and he loves car rides. He has never chewed or ruined anything in the house. He is independent, patient and he loves his cheese.
The biggest challenge with Winston is...
It took some time for Winston to trust me. He is stubborn and as a puppy if he wasn’t comfortable with doing something, he simply wouldn’t do it. Winston now understands he needs to follow my lead and I understand what his boundaries are.
The most surprising thing about owning a Chow Chow is...
How smart he is. I speak to him in two languages and he understands phrases fully. He also has a different relationship with different family members. He loves children, respects my dad and always sneaks treats off my mum. He is boys with my little brother who he plays by chasing and wrestling.
What I wish I’d known about Chow Chows is...
Take time to understand your Chow. Train them from young but learn to listen to your dog too.
