Dachshund (Miniature Smooth-Haired) & Jack Russell Terrier, 11 years old
My favourite thing about Benji is...
His loving nature, he is my best friend. He’s so funny and sometimes demanding, especially for treats at 8pm on the dot! He licks himself like a cat especially his paws, which he learnt from his cat sister. He talks and knows around 300 words and loves his blue ball. He goes to the loo on command and sometimes pretends he’s been by cocking his leg quickly!
The biggest challenge with Benji is...
Benji has canine dementia... he paces around in the night sometimes confused where he is. He’s up around 4 times all throughout the night. He’s on medication and I’m hoping that this will help neurologically. It’s so sad seeing him get so old. I’m planning my tattoo soon with his portrait. The day he leaves me will be the day my heart will break.
The most surprising thing about owning a Dachshund (Miniature Smooth-Haired) & Jack Russell Terrier is...
He’s got hound and terrier in him which makes him super intelligent.. he has two personalities.. one day dachshund, one day jack russell. Certainly keeps me on my toes!
