Greetings from Arlo

Dalmatian, 2 years old

🏠 Suburbs dog
🍷 Lives with adults only

My favourite thing about Arlo is...

He is very loving and calm but he can quickly turn into a total loon! Out and about Arlo is not phased being in busy places and is happy to go on trains and buses. So much so that if a bus stops he wants to get on it and if the driver doesn't open the door fast enough he will politely scratch at the door asking for it to be opened.

The biggest challenge with Arlo is...

He can be very stubborn! He recently was injured stepping on glass and stubbornly refused to stop licking his paw which would have made it worse and make his recovery take longer. He even figured out how to remove the sock and boot that was being used to protect his paw!

The most surprising thing about owning a Dalmatian is...

They are very very intelligent. There are some words we cannot use in a normal conversation such as walk, cat, squirrel, fox, jog, dinner breakfast.

What I wish I’d known about Dalmatians is...

Nothing really no regrets!

Did you know?

These dogs have a natural affinity with horses (from their history as carriage dogs) and that they were well known for running alongside, behind, or even underneath horse drawn fire engines. Not only did they protect the engine from being stolen while the firemen were fighting the fire, they also seemed to give the horses comfort.
