Meet Hudson
German Shepherd Dog, 2 years old
My favourite thing about Hudson is...
Hudson is such an affectionate, smart and goofy boy, all rolled up into a bundle of fluff that does the best head tilts.
The biggest challenge with Hudson is...
His separation anxiety from his tough start in life and then losing his newfoundland brother who showed him the ropes, who cuddled into him at night to make him feel safe, raced around the garden with him playing chase, then all of a sudden his brother was fading before his eyes and it was his turn to keep his brother warm and feel safe. Then one day his brother left never to return.
The most surprising thing about owning a German Shepherd Dog is...
The most surprising things about German Shepherds is how strong a bond they have with their family, and their head tilts when listening to you telling them about your day.
What I wish I’d known about German Shepherd Dogs is...
I wish I had known about their high prey drive, so having cats or smaller animals is going to a a challenge and they need to be introduced at a very young age.
Did you know?
German Shepherds are super intelligent and can learn new tricks and behaviours in only a few repetitions.
