Meet Abbie

Labrador Retriever, 11 Months old

🌳 Countryside dog
🍷 Lives with adults only

My favourite thing about Abbie is...

Abbie is most biddable and very keen to please and wants to be a friend to all. Her coat is shiny and bright, Abbie has only barked twice!

The biggest challenge with Abbie is...

Being breed from working stock Abbie can be quite demanding, she needs a vocation. Abbie has a stubborn streak, refusing to come in from the garden until she wants to and can become obsessive over toys, treats etc

The most surprising thing about owning a Labrador Retriever is...

Having had a lab in the past and doing much research there is not much that surprised me.

What I wish I’d known about Labrador Retrievers is...

My best advice .... They love water, even small dirty puddles and when they splash in them they may get a little stir crazy, this behaviour is characterised by the eyes glazing over and the puppy running about like a wild thing possessed! Labs are very food orientated, this aids training, but I would urge caution to avoid bribing. They shed hair, copious amounts.

Did you know

Originally Labrador Retrievers worked with fishermen and were bred to bring back fish-laden nets.
