Say Hello to Arby
Labrador Retriever, 10 Months old
My favourite thing about Arby is...
When he gets the zoomies! After a nice big walk at a new place he comes home and starts running up and down and along the sofa! His back legs tuck in and he goes super fast! Also love how affectionate he is with the kids and how he forgets how big he is and tries sit on their lap! He's 26kg and thinks he's the size of a newborn puppy!
The biggest challenge with Arby is...
He chews EVERYTHING. Luckily now he's older he doesn't chew anything he shouldn't in the house but he has destroyed at least 10 dog toys and 3 of those being labelled 'long lasting dog toy'. The only toy he has not destroyed is his dog Teddy which he adores. He has managed to demolish several pairs of shoes, headphones and chargers.
The most surprising thing about owning a Labrador Retriever is...
How greedy they are! Arby is our first pet and honestly he will eat everything and anything. We even have to hide the bin in the kitchen as he's figured out how to get into that now! His little puppy eyes when we are eating and he's already eaten his (even with a slow feeder bowl he demolishes!) You would think we starve him!
What I wish I’d known about Labrador Retrievers is...
How much they want food. Arby is a very energetic dog so he burns off what he eats but honestly it is so easy for them to get overweight so you have to be strict when it comes to them having food!
