Say Hello to Chester

Labrador Retriever, 4 years old

🏠 Suburbs dog
🍷 Lives with adults only

My favourite thing about Chester is...

He loves being stroked. He will sit for ages and just let me stroke him. He is very competitive when chasing tennis balls with his nephew Barney but will sometimes let Barney win. He sleeps in the most strange of positions and loves sleeping on his back.

The biggest challenge with Chester is...

He started having fits when he was 18 months old. They were irregular and always overnight. More recently they have become quite regular at every 2 months and can happen anytime. It is so sad when he is having a fit and I feel so helpless. After his last 2 fits I decided to put him on medication which has just started and it remains to be seen how he will get on with this.

The most surprising thing about owning a Labrador Retriever is...

They will eat anything, which can be tricky on walks with grass and bits of wood and pine combs being their favourites.

What I wish I’d known about Labrador Retrievers is...

They moult a surprising amount for a short haired breed
