Get to know Daisy

Labrador Retriever, 2 years old

🏠 Suburbs dog
🍼 Lives with children

My favourite thing about Daisy is...

Her lovely nature. She is gentle with our grandchildren, and friendly with all dogs and humans. She greets all dogs and humans on our walks with a waggy tail and a look, then she lays down and shows her belly for rubs. She’s a cuddle bug and likes to be close to me most of the time.

The biggest challenge with Daisy is...

We have been very lucky with her and apart from the occasional blip on recall and the odd roll in fox poo, she is a lovely girl.

The most surprising thing about owning a Labrador Retriever is...

They are very food driven which is good for training, but not so much for their waistline if it’s not monitored carefully! They are quite big but can be so gentle. They can be a bit like a bull in a china shop when excited and can prove to be a challenge when lead training!

What I wish I’d known about Labrador Retrievers is...

They shed…. constant furfetti, and so I brush my two at least once a week with a furminator brush. They love muddy puddles and generally any water they can get their paws in. They need really strong toys; they delight in murdering poor defenceless stuffies and tennis balls!

Did you know?

Labradors have turned their paw to a whole host of dog careers, including: drug and explosive detection, search and rescue and even guide dogs!
