Bonjour from Prince

Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever, 5 years old

🌳 Countryside dog
🍷 Lives with adults only

My favourite thing about Prince is...

Silly antics to get my attention like steal a shoe or t-towel & sit in front of me!!

The biggest challenge with Prince is...

Incredibly smart so can be stubborn or get bored which equals getting into trouble.

The most surprising thing about owning a Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever is...

They often look serious but they are goofballs & love to play & learn new things.

What I wish I’d known about Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retrievers is...

This is my 3rd Toller but I’d say energy level, how to teach ‘off switch’ & how much mental/enrichment training they need. Dog sports are great for this breed. Not recommended for first dog.

Did you know?

A relatively new breed, the Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever (NSDTR or Toller) was developed in Canada in the early part of the 20th Century, to fulfil the rather unique dual role of both decoy dog and retriever.
