My favourite thing about Luna-Blue is...
her clown-like, forever young personality. Socially fun with humans & dogs. Her clean non shedding coat layers. Her eagerness to please.
The biggest challenge with Luna-Blue is...
Other people & the unwanted attention she gets. They forget all boundaries & that she is not a toy for them to help themselves to. Other dogs can be scared of her size & puppy-like fun… they sometimes react negatively especially when her coat is long, or when her eyes are covered. I keep her coat at a medium length for this reason.
The most surprising thing about owning a Old English Sheepdog is...
The attention we get from strangers is off the scale! And whilst she is a very clean dog, the coat needs to be stripped & groomed out. It only sheds a little wool. She is a gentle girl, forgets her own size & can be clumsy.
What I wish I’d known about Old English Sheepdogs is...
The coats can vary hugely. Luna-B is our second girl & her coat is a lot thicker & needs more grooming & trimming to keep her healthy. Visit a meet up or breed show to see all the different textures of coat & sizes too… our girls have been quite small for the breed & just right for us.
