Greetings from Max

Parson Russell Terrier, 8 years old

Max was adopted!

My favourite thing about Max is...

His character! He’s such a happy chap, he loves to greet new people and dogs, and can get quite giddy!

The biggest challenge with Max is...

His hunting instinct. I had a problem with rats in the garden when I first moved in. That didn’t last long! Max took care of all the rats within a week! I have to watch him when we’re out walking to make sure he doesn’t try and get down rabbit holes or into badger setts. Luckily he is quite obedient and being a Parson Russell he’s big enough to pick up and carry away!

The most surprising thing about owning a Parson Russell Terrier is...

The fact they seem to be equal parts rubber and springs! The only word I have for Max is bouncy! He can jump surprisingly high and is completely fearless when it comes to exploring.

What I wish I’d known about Parson Russell Terriers is...

Where they get their energy from! I walk Max with my Lurcher and when Harvey is tired, Max will keep going for mikes afterwards! I don’t think I’ve ever seen Max really tired out in all the years I’ve had him.

Did you know?

They have a strong hunting instinct and are agile enough to scale fences, yet small enough to vanish down holes so good training and a vigilant owner are required.
