Say Hello to Bella
Pug, 4 years old
She came from Meath Dog Shelter .
My favourite thing about Bella is...
She's a live teddy bear. She's the most affectionate little dog who absolutely adores cuddles. She also loves learning tricks, having her kibble in a snuffle mat. Bella would win any zoomie competition. She's very social with people and other animals. Her best friend is a Staffy and they play for minutes before Bella needs to return to my lap, which we call her charging port, to recharge.
The biggest challenge with Bella is...
She constantly pretends that I've forgotten to feed her. She actually managed to get 2 breakfasts one day because she was so convincing that she hadn't been fed. She barks at planes, she doesn't want them landing in the garden, and that's fair enough.. Bella thinks she is Caucasian size
The most surprising thing about owning a Pug is...
They're much more energetic than they lead you to believe. They're total sun seekers and hibernate during the winter. They detest having their nails clipped. Oh my days, it sounds like a banshee has arrived as soon as the nail clippers is produced. And their deceptive loaf-of-bread appearance does not prepare a person for how flexible these little dogs are.
What I wish I’d known about Pugs is...
They bolt, have selective recall and put on weight really quickly. Mine has an incredible ability to slip both her harness and attached collar in .0001 of a second. They can be demanding little things too.
