Say Hello to Diesel
Rottweiler, 10 years old
My favourite thing about Diesel is...
His sensitivity and big loving heart and those daft handsome looks that he gives us. The way he adores our grandchildren and wants to play all the time, he even tried to copy my granddaughter playing hopscotch when she was little, he just melts my heart
The biggest challenge with Diesel is...
The biggest challenge has been the recent couple of months, he’s been diagnosed with pancreatitis and needs a very low fat diet but due to his protein intolerances that occurred about 5 years ago it’s difficult to find a suitable food for him. He can only have fish or lamb, and he’s a large dog to feed, these small bags of kibble are no good and too expensive
The most surprising thing about owning a Rottweiler is...
Rotties have their own traits lol you can’t sit on the floor without getting sat on. But just how loveable they are, they are the most friendliest breed I know, but, there is still a lot of stigma out there attached to Rotties which I find really sad. However saying that, people that have been wary at first have asked to stroke diesel, after chatting to us have gone away with a different attitude
What I wish I’d known about Rottweilers is...
Do your research, make sure you see the parent dogs if you’re buying a puppy and TRAIN TRAIN and more training and keep training. Rotties can be very wilful. Keep them on a strict diet for their future health
