Get to know Bear

Rottweiler, 1 Year old

My favourite thing about Bear is...

Bear is the best babysitter to our four month old puppy. He is so tolerant and caring with her. He’s amazing with my elderly parents, plays fetch with my son and such a loyal dog.

The biggest challenge with Bear is...

Changing people’s perception of the Rottweiler breed.

The most surprising thing about owning a Rottweiler is...

How gentle and caring they are. They love to please and have a job.. any job but always look to check where you are and for reassurance they’re doing the right thing.

What I wish I’d known about Rottweilers is...

Just how misinformed people can be about them. Whilst at home or out I feel I have to be even more careful to prevent my dog being in any danger.. because if there’s ever an incident (luckily there never has been) I feel my dog would be blamed through the prejudice that sadly can come with is breed.

Did you know?

While often the subject of bad press, Rottweilers can make fabulous working dogs and can excel in a variety of jobs. For example, Gunner, a search and rescue Rottweiler received the AKC Hero Dog Award for his lifesaving work at the World Trade Centre disaster in New York.
