Say Hello to Freddie
Shetland Sheepdog, 2 years old
My favourite thing about Freddie is...
Freddie is a friendly dog who loves to pinch anything he shouldn’t have; his treasures as I call them! The favourites are my husbands socks, and this turns into a game running round the house waving his treasure in the air. He is a fun loving dog.
The biggest challenge with Freddie is...
Freddie is a Covid pup which means he was never able to go to puppy classes, so has difficulty accepting other dogs but is slowly starting to.
The most surprising thing about owning a Shetland Sheepdog is...
Shetland sheepdogs are sensitive, loving dogs who are always aware of your moods, trying to support you through upset or illness just by giving you love. They are easy to groom even with their long coats, and always happy to please. They make good family pets and will walk or sit about as long and as far as you want. As long as they are with you they are happy.
What I wish I’d known about Shetland Sheepdogs is...
Nothing.
Did you know?
Whilst there have been many ‘presidential dogs’ residing at the White House, it was President Calvin Coolidge who had, for the benefit of his Shetland Sheepdog ‘Calamity Jane’, a special dog bath built, to keep her coat clean and sweet smelling.
