Say Hi to Bilbo
Shih Tzu, 7 years old
He came from RSPCA Surrey & Woking .
My favourite thing about Bilbo is...
He is a funny, cheeky, obliging little dog. He has to carry a mini tennis ball on his walks and loves to lie down & pose with his chin resting on it. Bilbo adores people, all of them. He is very interested in little people we meet on the beach - although is not always terribly respectful of their sandcastles and possessions! Bilbo lacks the stubbornness associated with the breed.
The biggest challenge with Bilbo is...
He’s a bit of a Houdini, loves finding his way through small gaps into forbidden territory and then is seemingly unable to get back! He destroys every single toy - starting with the ears, none of the toys here have ears… He is a bit of a scavenger too but we live at the beach so there’s always a chip to be had!
The most surprising thing about owning a Shih Tzu is...
They will walk further than you think and they can be very stubborn - Bilbo isn’t but the others all are!. Though small in stature their character is HUGE. They are very intelligent and very easy to train if you stay consistent. Shih Tzu’s thrive on human company.
What I wish I’d known about Shih Tzus is...
They are addictive; one is never enough! Also they are prone to dry-eye and as a breed can have pretty horrible teeth. Aside from this, they are a delightful breed.
