Meet Dakota
Shih Tzu, 4 years old
My favourite thing about Dakota is...
She jumps in your lap and lies there for ages! She gives you unconditional love and she gives you loads of kisses. She is a daddy's girl (yet I feed her!) and she's always bubbly and full of energy from the time she gets up to the time she goes to bed. She loves her walks no matter what condition it is, she likes a play fight with her daddy and gently bites his hands making sure that she doesn't hurt him.
The biggest challenge with Dakota is...
Since we have had Dakota she's always been ill from the age of 8 weeks she is in a lot of pain, yet she's still full of love. The hospital knows her quite well as she's always there and they said she's a character and full of love.
The most surprising thing about owning a Shih Tzu is...
She needs grooming as she has got long hair - she is very royal! Everybody loves her, she is very good with children but she doesn't like the bath (she will run away) she has given us so much joy.
What I wish I’d known about Shih Tzus is...
A good family dog; they protect and care for their home. She's very alert if the postman comes or knocks on the door! They are a very nice breed to have with children as well.
Did you know?
They’re also known as “chrysanthemum-faced dogs” because of the way the hair on their face grows in every direction.
