I've been feeding my husky on Purina pro plan about a week now. She loves it so far which I'm surprised at because she's a fussy eater. Her coats lovely and shiny and she seems more playful in herself. She's 8yrs old this yr and she's always acted more like a pup than a grown dog but these past few days she's wanted to play more in the garden. I've told my family about purina pro plan and I'm sending some to my parents for their 7yr old dog too to try. Will be buying this now for my dog
I have to say that at first I thought how can a dog food improve a dogs alertness and fitness. Well my 8 year old boxer has really improved. I have only been giving her the food for a week and she was perkier within 3 days!! She wants to playmore with our other dog and just seems a lot brighter in herself. That is not to say we didnt think she wasnt alert or bright before, but the improvement is noticeable. She actually runs more on the dog walks. She hurt her cruciate muscle last year and so hasnt really been able to run too much, but whether or not the food has helped improve her leg or if its just that she is brighter in her mind we are not sure but either way she has been running better.
The food is quite small bits which is good as she has had all of her teeth out now, and she LOVED the taste of the food, and wolfed it down (our other dog wanted it so I gave him a few bits in each bowl so that he felt he had a treat too). Both the dogs keep sniffing at the bag so we know they like it.
I thought I would try my dog on this as she is now 7 years old. Bailey loved the food, we have tried a number of complete dry foods over the years but we had the best reaction to this one. She seemed to really enjoy the food. I cannot say we have seen much difference in her behaviour, coat, cognitive levels etc though, but saying that she still is a very lively dog so it would be difficult to see any difference. But we will still buy the food in the future as she does enjoy it, and hopefully it will keep her as lively as she is for longer.
Just started feeding this food to my 9 year old husky. He cleans the bowl at every feed. There isn't an over-powering dog food smell off the nuts like some that you can get.
