My favourite thing about Milo is...
Milo is the happiest dog I have ever owned. I suppose that is why they are known as the “happy breed.” There’s nobody who doesn’t know Milo if they have ever passed him on the street or while I was shopping. He has a pleasant greeting for everybody he sees, and never fails to put a smile on someone’s face. He loves to play and appreciate every new toy. He loves everyone, human or animal.
The biggest challenge with Milo is...
Sometimes I jokingly call Milo a dog and a half. It’s not because his body is long. It’s because he has a lot of energy, and likes a lot of attention. He gets many walks and goes to doggy daycare, but owning this breed, and thinking that he will quietly sit at your feet most of the day would be a mistake. You should prepare yourself for making sure this dog gets the time he needs to be happy and
The most surprising thing about owning a Basset Griffon Vendeen (Petit) is...
Their joy. An exuberance for life on the pro side. On the con side, he wasn’t easy to train. His breed is one to be independent and think for himself. However, don’t give up, and be just as persistent and he will have a dog that will listen to you about 85% of the time.
What I wish I’d known about Basset Griffon Vendeens (Petit) is...
They use their voice freely, in other words expect to hear a lot from them. Both the good and the bad. Milo has no trouble letting us know how he feels. It is endearing at times, and a little annoying at times. But we love him even though he’s not perfect.
