Let us introduce Pasa
Belgian Shepherd Dog Malinois & Mastiff, 6 years old
He came from Spanish Stray Dogs UK .
My favourite thing about Pasa is...
his ability to make me laugh. He's a puppy trapped in an adult body, I'm fairly sure he has kangaroo ancestors the way he's always bouncing around. He's always happy and gives you an actual kiss when asked, which of course earns him a treat in return. Naturally he learnt this very quickly and the random amount of kisses he gives throughout the day have increased :)
The biggest challenge with Pasa is...
Stopping the kisses :) But on a serious note; pulling on the lead and reactivity to other dogs are the big challenges. These are actually the only challenges because he's been an absolute dream in all other aspects. Although there is some improvement in these challenges, it is a slow process and he's very strong. On a positive note; My right arm and core strength have improved.
The most surprising thing about owning a Belgian Shepherd Dog Malinois & Mastiff is...
How well he settled in, being an adult rescue. His manners are impeccable and he's definitely has the well-known Shepherd intelligence and loyalty. The journey has been a lot easier than expected.
What I wish I’d known about Belgian Shepherd Dog Malinoiss & Mastiffs is...
I honestly can't think of anything negative but I'm aware not every malinois/mastin cross will be the same. Pasa does have a highly sensitive stomach which is something I hadn't experienced before with any of my previous pups. The was an experience, let me tell you. A very messy one but we got there in the end. Apparently quite common for rescue dogs.
