Meet Ollie
Bichon Frise, 6 years old
My favourite thing about Ollie is...
he is cute, cuddly, and a bit of a lap dog. He gives the impression that he understands what you are saying to him, is a very good watchdog (ideal since I live alone), and he is good with children and other dogs. He thinks all dogs want to play with him so gives them his toys to try and win them over. If you let him off the lead he runs about like a whirling dervish but it does tire him out a bit.
The biggest challenge with Ollie is...
Ollie like all small children loves to splash through any mucky puddle & will jump into streams to wade for a time, except when the weather is cold, but he doesn't like going out in the rain (maybe its the raincoat)! He also thinks he has to rub and roll himself in anything smelly meaning more baths, a bit of a nightmare in keeping him smelling sweet; he has to be brushed daily & needs regular grooming.
The most surprising thing about owning a Bichon Frise is...
their loyalty to their owner.
What I wish I’d known about Bichon Frises is...
how much it costs for groomers to keep the Bichon coat looking as it should, not to be undertaken by a novice!
Did you know?
The Bichon Frise has three close relatives - the Havanese, the Bolognese and the Maltese.
