Come and meet Tia
Greyhound, 9 years old
She came from Russet greyhound sanctuary .
My favourite thing about Tia is...
Tia loves to look for hedgehogs in the dark and roar at the owls hooting at night. Tia has an adopted sister called Lucy who is also a rescued greyhound. Both are extremely well behaved and very affectionate.
The biggest challenge with Tia is...
Tia is scared of people, she sometimes refuses to come indoors if there is someone visiting that she doesn’t know and will also refuse to eat. Lucy has been helping her overcome this.
The most surprising thing about owning a Greyhound is...
Although the majority of ex-racing greyhounds have lived on their own in a kennel all their life, they take to being a pet straight away and often just slot in to family life. They are funny and very gentle and an absolute pleasure to have on the sofa; they love a sofa.
What I wish I’d known about Greyhounds is...
How easy they are to love and look after and the fact they will walk all day or sleep all day, they fit in around whatever lifestyle you have.
