Greetings from Bonnie

Labrador Retriever, 1 Year old

🏠 Suburbs dog
🍷 Lives with adults only

My favourite thing about Bonnie is...

she is a super friendly, brave girl who loves everyone and everything. I am disabled and she is calm and cuddly with me, yet boisterous and playful with my husband. She always brings a smile to our faces and everyone who meets her loves her. She is the sweetest little bean and always wants to do well. She also gets along really well with her sister, our rescue cat Luna!

The biggest challenge with Bonnie is...

her constant energy! She is always ready for more. My husband takes her out on lovely walks and we play games at home, and she has shuffle mats etc, but she is a little dynamo. She is now 15 months old and has already calmed down a lot from her early puppy months, but she always wants to be doing something - whether it’s walking or playing or simply being touched. But we love her so much.

The most surprising thing about owning a Labrador Retriever is...

their constant source of energy! But also, equally, how calm and loving they can be. They say “dogs don’t like hugs”, but they’ve clearly never had a 28kg Labrador throw themselves on their laps for a cuddle!

What I wish I’d known about Labrador Retrievers is...

that even though they’re big dogs, they’re also very sweet and loving. They don’t always live up to the reputation of eating anything and everything either - Bonnie is a very fussy, and slow, eater!

Did you know?

Labradors have turned their paw to a whole host of dog careers, including: drug and explosive detection, search and rescue, and even guide dogs!
